Even though ‘Supersonic Love’ makes sugar levels rise so high that it might give you a heart attack, at least you’ll die smiling, listening to the sweetest indie-pop melodies available.
Pixey’s journey with recording and self-producing started in her bedroom in Wigan while recovering from an illness. Since 2016 her little D.I.Y project grew into a considerable career path with enough material to get it out into the world. Pixey’s dreamy, stripped-back melodies made an appearance on Virgin Radio, Soho Radio, The Great Escape, Live at Leeds and many more.
‘Supersonic Love’ is a first single and opening track from her forthcoming EP Colours. With no time to waste, the tune makes you involuntarily follow; cheery drum beats straight to the imaginary sunbathed bay of never-ending summer. Despite all the joy, glitter and funk, it’s not ‘positive vibes only.’ The lyrics ‘I thought I was the strongest but all I was, was heartless’ point that sometimes it’s worth to escape the glowing light of love. To hide in the shadows for a moment of self-realisation and self-criticism.
Full of catchy riffs and indie melodies that get mixed up with electronic upbeat parts, Pixey’s newest single is a light-hearted crossover between contemporary mainstream pop and early Björk. The Artist’s candy-coated, lovely vocals complement the instrumentals well enough to create a wholesome song.
The song that almost makes you want to be in love. In a supersonic kind.
‘Supersonic Love’, along with a music video, is out now and is available on Pixey’s social media and all major streaming platforms.
