"It's about about yearning for things and people which always seem slightly too far away."

'Windswept' is the dancey sister single from Leicester newcomers Factory Girls, proving that the band have more to offer than just a one sound fits all system. Factory Girls give us melancholy via their debut release 'Never seen a Ghost' and demonstrate their versatility through the driven and whirling 'Windswept', which is sure to make a feature in many people's kitchen dance sessions.

"Our last song about ghosts I swear."

Bassist Joe Barton is delivering the groove in this track, filling 'Windswept' with bass that's good for the soul right now, with guitarist Will Astill adding that signature twinkle that's woven within the sound of the band. Drummer James Parker really drives the track making it full bodied and textured, not forgetting frontman Noah Hopley-Jones who's voice ebbs and flows navigating its way through the single, accompanied by his own guitar. 'Windswept' also has that little bit of synth to tie it all together and who doesn't love a bit of synth in their life?

Frontman Noah told us why the band seem to only release singles with ghosts in it and why 'Windswept' felt like a good second single saying "Windswept is our driving dancey second single. It's about about yearning for things and people which always seem slightly too far away. (Our last song about ghosts I swear). We really wanted to record this one because it’s so fun to play live and has great energy, with high voltage Krautrock lead guitar, thumbing drums and walking bass lines. The lyrics loop round building in tension leading to a lovely synth part and crescendo drummin. Also hope y'all are surviving isolation, it sucks!"

Noah leaving us with some words of wisdom adding "Protest to save the planet and vote Labour"

'Windswept' is a single that promises a bright future for Factory Girls keeping us all going with some new noise in isolation.

'Windswept' the latest single from Factory Girls is now Available on all major streaming services.
